Bishop Cipriano Kihangire SSS, Women’s Day Celebration

The International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. This day brings attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive equality, reproductive rights and violence against women.

This year, the theme for International Women’s Day (8 March), “Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVD-19 world,” celebrates the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the gaps that remain. And as part of the activities of that day, MEMPROW Girls Network of Bishop Cipriano Kihangire SSS, Luzira together with their Patron, the deputy headmistress Ms. Auma Florence shared special messages to commemorate the day.  The girls and boys (clad in MEMPROW purple t-shirts) joined other stakeholders to celebrate womankind and contribute to a campaign dedicated to ending gender based violence against the girls and women.
