In the heart of Uganda, a powerful movement is brewing. The MEMPROW Girls Network is on a mission to empower young women and girls, unlocking their full potential and paving the way for a brighter future. With over 20,000 members, this informal group is more than just a network - it's a sisterhood, a support system, and a force to be reckoned with.

Since the COVID-19 lockdown, the MEMPROW Girls Network has been working tirelessly to revive its leadership and reignite its passion for feminist movement building. Scheduled to kick off in January and run through June 2023, this project is set to make waves in the fight for gender equality and women's rights.

At the core of the network's mission is peer mentoring. By empowering more girls and young women to embrace feminist living, participate in leadership roles, and engage in decision-making processes, the MEMPROW Girls Network is creating a new generation of fearless leaders. Through collective organizing, the network is also advocating for the protection, demand, and access to girls and women's rights, ensuring that no voice goes unheard.

But it doesn't stop there. The MEMPROW Girls Network is also committed to creating safe spaces for continuous feminist learning, healing, and activism. By providing a supportive environment for girls and young women to explore their identities, share their stories, and stand up for what they believe in, the network is fostering a community of strong, empowered individuals.

In order to achieve these lofty goals, a new leadership team was elected, and strategies for future activities were carefully planned. With guidance from outgoing leaders and MEMPROW, the new leaders are now equipped with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to drive the network forward. By strengthening coordination within the Central and West Nile regions, the MEMPROW Girls Network is ensuring its growth and sustainability for years to come.

So, to all the young women and girls out there, to the donors and stakeholders who support their cause, and to anyone who believes in the power of women - keep an eye on the MEMPROW Girls Network.
