MEMPROW Joins Other Civil Society Organizations for the International
Learning Event by More Than Brides Alliance
MEMPROW represented by the Executive Director, Ms. Immaculate Mukasa, participated in the More Than Brides Alliance - International Learning Event Uganda Chapter. The four day event from 1st - 4th March 2021 took place at Lake Heights Hotel in Entebbe, under the theme: Child Marriage and Sexuality.
The discussion centering on the link between child marriage and adolescent female sexuality, also engaged on the validation of a communication strategy for Girls not Brides Alliance - Uganda and; Policy Advocacy recommendations to end child marriage and Teenage Pregnancy.
Key participants included Civil Society Organizations who are challenging Child Marriages and teenage pregnancies under the umbrella of Girls Not Brides.
The recommendations included deliberate capturing of data on Child Marriage, and resourcing strategies to end Child Marriage and Sexual Gender Based Violence. The policy recommendations are to be finalized and utilized to advocate for government action.
