Feminist Research and Publication
The feminist Research and Publication program at MEMPROW is a groundbreaking initiative designed to amplify the voices and experiences of women and girls from grassroots to global levels. At its core, this program is about creating a space where feminist knowledge is generated, shared, and utilized to influence policies and practices that impact the lives of women and girls. We recognize that traditional research methodologies have often marginalized or silenced feminist perspectives, particularly those from African contexts. Therefore, our approach centers on decolonizing research practices and ensuring that the lived realities of women and girls are at the forefront of knowledge production.
This program seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice by engaging feminist scholars, activists, and community members in collaborative research projects. We focus on topics that are crucial to the advancement of gender justice, such as sexual and reproductive health rights, climate justice, economic empowerment, Digital revolution and the intersectionality of gender with class, and other social identities. Employing participatory action research methodologies, helps us ensure that the research process itself is a tool of empowerment, allowing participants to critically reflect on their experiences and advocate for transformative change.
Our publications are not just academic exercises; they are tools for advocacy and change. We produce a diverse range of outputs, including policy briefs, research reports, Poster and Paper presentations and thought leadership pieces that challenge patriarchal narratives and promote feminist discourses. Our publications serve as a resource for activists, policymakers, educators, and other stakeholders committed to advancing gender equity and social justice.
Through the Feminist Research and Publication program, MEMPROW aims to build a robust network of feminist researchers and advocates who can collaborate, share knowledge, and develop strategies to address the pressing issues facing women and girls today. We are committed to fostering a culture of learning and growth, where diverse voices are heard and valued, and where research is used as a powerful tool to dismantle oppressive systems and build a more just and equitable world.
